Amsterdam-based Nina June has a look and sound that is sometimes reminiscent of the golden ages of Hollywood. With a new EP called Shadows & Riddles due out on November 1st via Nettwerk Records, we can get a flavour of what’s to come on new track Raven’s Feather.
June’s vocals are a rare treasure, her voice has a combination of range and inner tranquillity that can’t help but to enchant the listener. Akin to Charlotte Gainsbourg and Ane Brun, the overall ambience of the track captures a dreamy, sultry air in its marriage of rock mannerisms and moments of introspection, merging into a soothing slice of poignant mood music.
